1. Some of you might be asked to start helping teachers in the school...here is a file that you can use to help novice users. 2. Share the content of your excel file ('Diagnostic Form') with others....click on this link to acces a shared excell document to input your content into....please be carefull not to delete what others have inputted :)
Preparing for May 17 2010:
1. Continue completing the Blossom Learning course 2. Share the content of your excel file ('Diagnostic Form') with others....click on this link to acces a shared excell document where we will all input our content into....please be carefull not to delete what others have inputted :) 3. Have at least one example (a Notebook lesson or a SMART Board activity) to share with the group (it can either be one that you created, one that a teacher in your school used or one that you found at the online content examples created by teachers). Be prepared to share what phase of teacher would be using this example: Novice, Intermedite, Advanced, Exemplary 4. Browse SMART's products for education. Make note of any products you would like more information about. 5. 1. Send me a picture of yourself (if you havn't already done so) so we can identify each other during our virtual meeting. 2. Continue completing the Blossom Learning course 3. Go to this site if you have not already registered for our weekly virtual meetings (note: you will need a computer with internet and either your computer audio – here is an audio checklist – or a telephone to listen and speak) 4. Continue completing the excel file to record your findings regarding your observations and conversations with teachers at your school. 5. In our last meeting I introduced the Phases of Adoption wheel (shown below) it is used to describe the various stages a teacher will pass through as they begin to use interactive technologies. Try to imagine the kinds of things teachers would be doing at each of the phases.....through observations with teachers at your school or by browsing through online content examples created by teachers,, find and save 4 example files that can be used to describe each phase (you only need to find one file for each phase)
6. Watch the "Did you know?" video from the Videos page....write down your thoughts/opinions/questions. 7. Browse SMART's products for education. Make note of any products you would like more information about. 8. Be prepared to:
a) talk about what you have done in the last week
b) talk about any current challenges/concerns
c) share your opinions of the video watched
d) share the 4 files you found...if you have difficulty finding files at the very least be prepared to list the kind of things a teacher would be doing at each phase. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

(a) opinions about: (i) the use of technology in the classroom, (ii) what effective use of technology looks like
(b) who uses the SMART Board: (i) ask them when and why they started using it, (ii) find out how they are using it, (iii) what kind of support they need
(c) who doesn’t use the SMART Board? (i) ask them why they are not using it
[you can make use of this excel file to record your findings] 6. Be prepared to talk about:
a) your current internship placement…what you hope to accomplish in the next three weeks
b) current or foreseeable challenges
c) any questions/comments about the Blossom Learning course
d) your findings from #5 above
